What is it like in a socialist society

I've been searching for socialism and I've read Leo Huberman's the ABC of Socialism. I think I know some basic stuff about it. I bought Lenin's The State and Revolution, Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism. I'm now looking forward to reading about what is like in a socialist society and how the revolution was made. I've come across a few books but I don't know which ones to read first/or read at all. I'd like your recommendations too. And please tell me if any of these books are hard/really boring. These are the books: Listen, Yankee: The Revolution in Cuba, Ten Days That Shook the World, The Road to Wigan Pier.
